  • Since we launched a full rebuild of the Jobs platform on Fairygodboss in 2018, we’ve introduced a number of features to the site that elevate the experience for female job seekers.

    • Leave a Review for your Employer: We transformed from a list survey to an interactive, mobile-friendly survey, and added questions directly related to company culture and concerns specific to women. Result: significant increase in completed reviews, plus additional data points on culture. Leave a review of your employer on Fairygodboss >

    • Enhanced Profiles for our Employer customers: A full redesign highlights all the best features of our company partners, using storytelling elements to highlight company culture and D&I initiatives. Result: Employers love the features and Fairygodboss has extremely high renewal rate.

    • Convincers on job descriptions: I was challenged to come up with new ways to present job descriptions to women, to encourage them to follow through and apply for the roles that match their skills. The solution was to highlight the unique, culture-based features of the hiring company, coupled with the ratings from a few key questions on the company reviews. Result: A significant increase in job applies to our customers’ open roles.

    • Enhanced search and filter options for jobs: To help users find the right jobs, we’ve continued to enhance the Jobs platform, adding personalized emails and notifications for job alerts, visual hints for new jobs and actively hiring companies, and filters for remote roles.

The goal for this project: 

Upgrade the Employer Profile to show more company features (drive new business, fuel renewals) by creating an informative, engaging look & feel that appeals to women looking for jobs on Fairygodboss (drive applies to companies from a diverse, high quality audience).

Actions: 

  • Discovery: Competitive analysis of other employer-branding & recruitment sites

  • Research & interviews: What do women on our platform want to know about potential employers? What do employers want to share most with our audience? 

  • Migration: What details will we carry over from existing profiles? What information is missing that needs to be part of the new processes? 

  • Design recommendations: How do we make these branding pages compelling? (better storytelling). How do we inspire women to see themselves working for these companies? What are the features we must include? (show more details that specifically appeal to female job seekers.) 

  • Testing: Prototype reviews with existing customers (does this satisfy your asks), internal account executives (can you sell this?)

Results: 

  • Did we drive new revenue? Yes. 

  • Did we make companies more likely to renew? Yes. 

  • Did we drive more views of Employer Profiles? Yes. 

  • Did we drive more job applies to our customers? Yes.
